Carbon iron

  • Is an iron-carbon alloy

  • It consists of mixing two elements, iron and carbon.

  • Other elements are present in very small quantities.

A106 grade B

API 5L grade B X52

Stainless steel:

  • It is one of the best metal products that are more resistant to rust, dirt and corrosion than ordinary steel.

  • Is an iron-carbon alloy

Fittings and accessories

Elbows

  • The elbow provides a change in the direction of material flow.

  • This adds stress to the system due to impact, friction and re-acceleration.

  • When the product enters the elbow is usually continues to move straight forward to the first area of impact.

  • Then the product is deflected at an angle towards the elbow outlet.

  • The deflection angle is determined from the elbow design and product properties, as well as the transmission speed and the specific load.

Reducers

  • There is in the pipeline and its function is to reduce the pipe size from a larger bore to a smaller bore (inner diameter)

  • The size of the reduction is usually equal to the average diameter of the largest and smallest pipe.

  • Types: reducers (1) centralized (2) and decentralized.

 The reducer

  • There is in the pipeline and its function is to reduce the pipe size from a larger bore to a smaller bore (inner diameter)

  • The size of the reduction is usually equal to the average diameter of the largest and smallest pipe.

  • Types: (1) centralized (2) decentralized.

Concentric reducers:

  • It is in a conical shape, and its function is when there is a shift in diameter between the tubes.

For example:

  • When a 1-inch tube goes to a 3/4-inch tube, the top or bottom of the tube does not need to remain flat.

  • Unlike eccentric decreases, concentric decreases have a common central line.

Decentralized reducers:

  • Fittings used in piping systems between two pipes of different diameters.

  • It is used when the diameter of the pipe on the upper side of the fitting (ie where the flow comes from) is greater than the lower side.

Plugs:

  • It is a cap to close the end of the tube.

  • It is available for all pipe diameters.

  • It is used to close large diameter pipes.

Tee or connections

  • Fittings used to split and change the direction of flow of the operating tube.

  • It is in two types:

  • Equal Tee:

  • Its main function: to create a branch at an angle of 90 degrees from the main path of the tube.

  • The equal tee (or straight tee) is used as the branch has the same diameter as the run-pipe.

  • Reducing Tee:

  • The Reducing Tee is used because the diameter of the branch is smaller as the operating tube.
